When you exercise you put a certain amount of stress on your body and while it keeps your muscles healthy, it can also result in muscle strains and tears from overuse. Usually, your body will adapt to the added strain by strengthening your muscles and tendons. However, when muscle overuse occurs various conditions can develop which can cause the following symptoms to appear: swelling, warmth to the touch, redness and/or impaired function in the affected area.
