Shin splints

Do your shins ache or start throbbing after going for a jog or just rushing around in your everyday life? If you answered yes then you may have shin splints which can come about because of swollen leg muscles, stress fractures, ‘flat feet’ and even weaknesses in the stabilising muscles in your hips and/or core. It is quite common for runners to get shin splints as they are most often caused (or exacerbated) by overuse of your legs.
